  • Can a diagnosis of specific learning disability be made with cognitive and academic testing?

    Yes - Lauren can diagnose dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia.

    For a diagnosis to be made the difficulty must be significant, and can not better be accounted for by uncorrected visual or auditory acuity, or an attention deficit. The difficulty must have persisted for at least 6 months despite the provision of intervention.

  • What is a good age to get an assessment?

    Lauren advises that tests are administered to those aged 7 and above. Lauren can also assess adults.

  • What are reliable screening tests?

    The Quick Screen Dyslexia test

  • Do parents stay during the assessment?

    It is advised parents leave for the assessment. The presence of a caregiver can impact on achievement. Please enquire if you wish to stay during the assessment

  • How long does the assessment take?

    Testing takes anywhere between 4-5 hours long. For an estimate please ask Lauren.

  • How much does the assessment cost?

    A Cognitive and Educational Assessment costs $1,150.00

  • How do I book an appointment?

    Go to the top right hand corner of LM Diagnostics website and click the “Book an Appointment” button. From here please select one appointment for those aged 12 and under. Please select two appointments for those 12 and above and/or have an attention deficit. The subtitle “3 hours” accommodates for all clients (shorter and longer sessions).   • What is Special Assessment Conditions testing?

    Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) testing are for those who would like a reader, writer, computer use or time accommodation within secondary school internal and external examinations. Please enquire with Lauren.

  • School and in-home testing

    Please enquire with Lauren to request an in-school or at home assessment.

  • What should I tell my child before the assessment?

    Inform your child that Lauren will be doing some games, as well as reading, writing, and math activities to explore their abilities. Most children enjoy testing.
